Okay, so I’ve tried. I really did. I wanted to invent a holiday. But turns out, that’s not my ministry. I’m not the architect-I’m the enthusiastic participant. The confetti thrower. The one who shows up with snacks and good vibes.
I have, however, read some brilliant ideas today. And honestly? I wish we’d just adopt them already. Not the kind where we end up doing laundry or booking that overdue hair appointment( guilty). I mean the kind where we actually do the thing the holiday was made for.
Spend and share food with the less fortunate. Since it’s almost evident there’s enough to go around. We just need to care enough. Get time to declutter. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. Celebrate being human-no cultures or religions attached. Are just some of the many splendid ideas for a holiday I have come across. Days to just be alive and love each other a little more loudly. And maybe if we celebrate these often enough. They will become a way of life.
Hopefully.
So no, I won’t be inventing a holiday today. But id someone else does-especially one of those good ones- I’ll be there. Ready. Present. Possibly with snacks.
